Edinburgh Fringe and Festival is a coming. So many shows. So little time.
I had a chat with Hardeep Singh Kohli today about his new show which is on at The Gilded Balloon every day at 2pm between 3rd – 28th August.
He talks, cooks and interviews guests.
As the runner up in Celebrity Masterchef you know the grub will be good as well as the chat.
His top tip for eating in Edinburgh is The Dogs on Hanover Street owned and run by the eccentric delight that is David Ramsden. So if you’re coming to town you could do a lot worse than head there for a light snack, big scoff, day or night.
Just a quickie……..
Edinburgh is a place bursting with live music. One venue which is becoming a real player in the music world is Scotland’s Oldest Wine Cellar – Whigham’s in the City’s West End. Two years ago local impresario Kevin Dorrian – a very talented musician in his own right started a Jazz Club at Whigham’s which has grown to the extent now that whichever Sunday evening you choose to pop in you could well be mistaken for thinking you had been transported to Basin Street, New Orleans as an ever impressive number of well kent names and faces from the jazz scene turn up, play and thrill the assembled crowd. Next Sunday is a Louis Prima night – which will be incredible I am dusting off my Zoot suit in anticipation.
On the back of the Jazz Night came the Blues Night. A monthly Tuesday which once again attracts a great array of talented musicians whose infectious enthusiasm fills the room with smiling dancing people.
The latest evening to be added to this selection is an open acoustic session. The first one of which is this week – June 15th Wednesday night from 7.30pm. Hosted Coreen Scott, who has the voice of an angel, and friends are gathering to play a selection of traditional and contemporary music. So if you’re in the city, Come on down. It will be FUN. A gathering of like-minded souls. Music lovers. Visitors, Locals. Everyone is welcome. See you there!
